I am so impressed with whoever it was that knitted up Doyle street in Hobart! I spotted these just before Xmas but around Valentines day I noticed a heart had been added to the pole at the roundabout. I notice one other day that the knitted graffiti  went well past Doyle street and ventured towards Melifont St! An amazing effort..well done to our local knit guerrillas!

Today we had four generations of knitters (well, one knitter-to-be) at the Hobart S 'n' B get-together at Pasha's. Hanna came along with her gorgeous new daughter, Emma. Hobart knitters Jen and Esther worked hard into the wee hours last night installing a bit of colour to our local politicians' neighbourhood. Ok, so I succumbed and bought more spotlight bamboo/cotton to make the Zephyr Style Rusted Root, like this one:(from here)The pattern (and yarn ball band) gauge is 20sts, 28 rows (per 10cm). My swatch is 20.5 sts and 27 rows. If I go up a needle size to try and get the stitch gauge spot-on my row gauge is likely to get even more inaccurate. I finshed the mittens that I was knitting at the s'n'b before last and presented them to their new owner. Don't ask me what the pose is all about. He thinks he's a rock star or something. Maybe I should add some studs to the mitten cuffs to make them a bit more rock. A coconut ice hat!This was a quick weekend project from the Jo Sharp Saturday book. I've been making lots and lots of crochet flowers and they've turned into this... flibberty gibbet. A friend of mine Louise, from Melbourne, sent me some pics from an animated stop-motion film she made with SLAG (southern ladies animation group).
