This is the book we were talking about yesterday. According to the library catalogue the state library has several copies.
I taught myself to knit (again - I did get taught by my mum when I was little) using this book. I found the instructions really easy to follow and the 'common mistakes' bit was really helpful. I still go back to this book fairly often when I need to remind myself how to do different things.

I still use it too. The small starter projects designed around the techniques also helped me a lot when I was learning
