I've finally finished a knitted item of clothing that isnt'a a scarf or a hat! (Admittedly it's only small)
Progress shot:
And all done:
I'll post a photo with the little bloke in it later (here's hoping it actually fits!).
The pattern is from Sidar Cheeky Chinos. I knitted the 1-2 years size, 'cause I have a giant baby, and used 4 balls of the charcoal wool (Jo Sharp DK, Ironwork) and 1 of each of the other colours (I just ran out of the third ball before I made the jumper up, so probably only 4-5 balls if you knit it all in one colour).
The pattern was relatively straight forward but didn't include much direction about how to join all the pieces. I had to undo and redo the cast off stitches for the neck as the first one was too tight and wouldn't fit over Henry's head. I ended up using Elizabeth Zimmerman's sewn cast off (found here) which isn't as neat but is nice and stretchy.
And here's a picture of the baby sleeping bag I made:
I used the pattern from Baby crafts: over 25 projects to make and give by Juliet Moxley. It can also be found in a book called Comfort Zone by Juliet Bawden (who is actually the same person publishing under her married name, or visa versa, I can't remember which).

that jumper looks so neat! was the v-neck hard? I have wondered if they are tricky
It looks less neat up close!
The v-neck wasn't very difficult, just do the decreases as you knit the front (knit one side of the v, keep the remaining sts on a holder, then knit the other), pick up the stiches for the neckband and then do a decrease either side of the centre stitch for each neckband row.
Being my first proper knitted garment I'm not really sure if that's anymore difficult than normal, but I doubt it.
